Large public buildings, such as museums, theaters, and government buildings, typically have spacious entry areas and high foot traffic. In many cases, revolving doors are used instead of large doors to counteract the drafts that would otherwise be created by other types of doors. However, due to the design of such doors, cold air is drawn into the building with every rotation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Visitors and employees find the cold air that enters the building through such a revolving door unpleasant. In the following article, we\u2019d like to explain in more detail how this influx of cold air can be counteracted.<\/p>\n

How does a revolving door work?<\/h2>\n

A revolving door, also known as a rotating door, is usually a structure made of glass and\/or metal in which a vertical axis supports two to four door panels set at equal angles.<\/p>\n

This carousel-like device rotates inside a circular housing. If it is mechanically operated, it moves when the door is pushed or pulled; in an electrically controlled version, it moves automatically. In countries with left-hand traffic, carousel doors rotate clockwise, and in countries with right-hand traffic, they always rotate counterclockwise.<\/p>\n
