Dual EC is the energy-saving solution for modern retail spaces. Whenever heating energy is limited and must be used strategically, this system offers a particularly efficient solution for entrance areas.

What makes Dual EC unique is the principle of two separate airflows, also known as dual technology. Inside the unit, two rows of fans generate an outer, unheated airflow and an inner, heated airflow. This separate airflow pattern is maintained all the way to the air outlet. The unheated outer airflow stabilizes the overall airflow behavior, increases the throw distance, and optimizes airflow coverage in the door area. As a result, Dual EC operates significantly more efficiently than conventional systems and reduces the required heating capacity by about 40%.

Installation is extremely simple thanks to the M8 rivet nuts recessed into the top of the unit and the optionally available mounting hardware. In the standard configuration, the unit does not need to be opened for electrical connection. Terminal blocks for the
power supply, as well as the connectors for the control unit and parallel operation, are accessible from the outside.

  • Self-supporting sheet steel enclosure with no visible screws.
  • High-quality powder coating in RAL 9016 (traffic white) as standard. Other colors are available.
  • Inspection panel bolted in place behind the intake grille.
  • Double, aerodynamically optimized aluminum outlet fins (natural
    anodized), 5-position adjustable, and flush
    with the bottom of the unit.
  • Intake grille (in the same color as the unit) made of perforated sheet metal with
    a micro-grille behind it serving as an intake filter.

Easy-to-maintain cleaning (micro-grille) without opening the unit—simply vacuum the intake grille. A blind-bolted and secured access panel (hinged on one side) on the underside of the unit is easy to open for maintenance work.

Heat exchangers available for various heating media:

DHW: For low-temperature DHW 60/40; other temperatures available upon request.
DX: DX coils brazed under nitrogen for use with heat pumps (heating mode only). High-quality heat exchangers made of copper tubing, with press-fitted, extra-strong aluminum fins.

TEKADOOR CAT Electronic Multifunctional Control System

  • A 20-meter pre-assembled, shielded data cable is included as standard with devices equipped with PWW and electric heating.
  • The 5-stage CAT control system includes a manual/automatic mode and a summer/winter switch as standard features.
  • A weekly timer with a timer function can be optionally implemented using enable contacts. For winter operation, a solenoid valve rated up to 2.5 A can be optionally connected.
  • With the CAT control system, the airflow can be manually adjusted in 5 steps, and the heating output—which, in the case of electric heating, depends on the fan speed—can be manually adjusted in 3 steps.
  • An enable contact and potential-free operating and fault signals are available for control via a customer-supplied BMS or DDC.
  • Up to 10 devices can be connected in parallel in a master-slave configuration.
  • On-site control via a ModBus interface is also possible.

The efficiency of the EC fans used by Tekadoor is >90% under partial load, which is approximately 30–35% higher than that of conventional AC fans. This not only increases efficiency but also reduces operating costs. The individually driven EC fans with integrated motor protection feature double-sided intake, are mounted on vibration-free bearings, and are controlled by a PWM (pulse width modulation) signal. They not only comply with the ErP Directive but actually exceed this standard.
